McDaniel College's new Leroy Merritt Fitness Center is designed to be a campus showcase that provides a community gathering space and serves as a recreation and fitness center for today's health-conscious students. Key building features for the fitness center include:
- New pedestrian plaza to attract crowds of students between classes
- Dramatic glass curtain wall provides dramatic views
- Media center and food court allow student groups to hang out watching sporting events
- Multi-media McDaniel Sports Hall of Fame and sports archive displays
- Cardiovascular and strength training equipment

Rules and Regulations:
- A McDaniel College identification card is required to use the facility.
- All who utilize the fitness center exercise at their own risk. A medical exam is recommended prior to beginning an exercise program.
- Proper attire required: athletic clothing and footwear, shirts must be worn at all times and no sandals.
- Only personal music devices may be brought into the fitness center.
- Users must re-rack and return dumbbells, weight plates, bars and fitness equipment to its appropriate location upon completion of each exercise.
- Users must clean equipment, pads and handles after use. Cleaning spray and paper towels are provided.
The Fitness Center offers a variety of equipment including: cardiovascular equipment, selectorized weight training machines, free weights and dumbbells.
Cardiovascular Equipment: 22 total units
- Treadmills, Elliptical Trainers, Arc Trainers and Exercise Bikes.
Strength Training Equipment:
- Selectorized Weight Training Equipment – 18 individual machines
- Multi-Station Weight Training Unit
- Free Weights
- Dumbbells
- Power Cage
- Plate Loading Machines – squat, leg press and smith machine.
- Flat, incline, decline and adjustable benches
- Pull-up / Dip Station
