Four members of the McDaniel College football team were named Nov. 11 to the 2007 All-Centennial Conference (CC) team, and 24 student-athletes were named to the CC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Tom Wenrich ’08 was named to the first All-CC football team, while Matt Bergbauer ’10, Bryan Letourneau ’10 and Travis Wenrich ’10 were tabbed as honorable mentions. Wenrich, the team’s punter, moved up to the first team after being named to the second team last season, averaging a CC-best 38.7 yards per punt this season. Bergbauer, a tight end, led the team with 36 receptions for 307 yards. Letourneau, a defensive lineman, led the team with 83 tackles this season to rank seventh in the CC. Wenrich, a defensive back, finished the season with 51 tackles and led the squad with five interceptions – a number that also tied for the CC’s best. The Green Terror finished the season 1-9 overall (1-7 CC).

Twenty-four McDaniel College student-athletes have been named to the 2007 Centennial Conference (CC) Fall Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated for the honor roll, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, be of sophomore standing or higher, and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.40.

In non-conference women’s basketball Nov. 18, Robin Gregg ’08 and Courtney Gogolinski ’08 each recorded 12 points to lead McDaniel to a 67-56 win over Oneonta in the Cougar Classic Tip-Off Tournament. Earlier in the weekend, the team lost to Hamilton 48-58. The Green Terror returns to action at 6 p.m. Nov. 20 in the home opener against Lebanon Valley.

Sean Allen ’09 finished 74th in a field of 282 runners Nov. 10 to lead the McDaniel men’s cross country team to a 21st-place out-of-41 finish at the 2007 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional meet. On the women’s side, McDaniel placed 31st out of 37, tallying 763 points in the 37-team race.

McDaniel wrestlers came in 12th of 12 on Nov. 17 at the Navy Classic. Andrew Winfield ’09 went 1-2 at the 174-pound weight class and recorded the only win for McDaniel. The team returns to action at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at Centenary.
