Graduate Education Tenure-Track Position
McDaniel College is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenure-track position in mathematics education at the Assistant Professor level. Candidates should be prepared to teach courses in mathematics content and pedagogy and provide administrative leadership within the graduate program in elementary education. A PhD is preferred as is elementary or secondary classroom teaching experience in public or private K-12 education settings. ASL and Deaf Studies Lecturer
McDaniel College invites applications for a half-time lecturer position (non-tenure track) in ASL and Deaf Studies to begin fall, 2012. The teaching load consists of two ASL courses per semester (total four courses per academic year). Other responsibilities may include advising ASL/Deaf Studies undergraduate minors, assisting the undergraduate student organization, or providing ongoing feedback to Deaf Education graduate candidates as they prepare instructional video materials for classroom use. There is the opportunity to teach additional courses during the summer sessions.
M.A. required, Ph.D. preferred, in the area of ASL, linguistics, or related field. Fluency in ASL (ASLPI score of 4.0 or better) required; experience teaching ASL at the post-secondary level, current ASLTA certification (or ability to become certified within two years), and active involvement in the Deaf community desired. Preference will be given to candidates who are available for additional teaching during the summer and are familiar with video editing software.

Assistant Professor in Digital Rhetoric and New Media
The Department of English at McDaniel College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Digital Rhetoric and New Media at the level of assistant professor starting August 2012. The candidate should be a specialist in new media composing, multimodal literature, online journalism, or a related field, with an interest in developing courses that emphasize new media and 21st century literacies, such as interactivity, social networking, microblogging, hypertext fiction, e-poetry, digital copyright, graphic essays, and other digital nonfiction. Applicants must be willing to participate in the College’s first-year composition program and to develop courses to meet general education requirements under the McDaniel Plan, including the First-Year Seminar and Sophomore Interdisciplinary Studies program. Ph.D. or advanced ABD required, along with evidence of teaching excellence and new media production.

Lecturer in Theatre Arts
McDaniel College, Theatre Arts Department, seeks a half-time instructor in Acting and Interactive Theatre at the rank of Lecturer starting August 2012. Qualifications: PhD in Theatre or MFA in Acting with training in interactive theatre, community-based theatre, drama therapy, Theatre of the Oppressed, Playback Theatre, improvisation and/or devised theatre. Professional experience in acting or leadership experience with a form of interactive or community-based theatre. Three years teaching experience on the college level preferred. Description: Lecturer will teach courses in the Acting and Interactive focus areas, and occasionally in Texts and Traditions (history) courses, and may direct one production or performance-based interactive project per year.
