An historic win for the Green Terror men’s basketball team, plus six student athletes are honored for their sportsmanship.
McDaniel beat Franklin & Marshall 75-62 in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s basketball Dec. 8, making it the first win at that college since 1984. With the victory, the Green Terror (6-0, 3-0 CC) is off to its best start in program history, bettering the 5-0 start by the 1962-63 squad. The team returns to action at 5 p.m. Dec. 18 at Mary Washington.
McDaniel’s women’s basketball team beat Haverford 86-47 Dec. 8 in CC play. The Green Terror returns to action at 2 p.m. on Dec. 16 at Delaware Valley.
The women’s indoor track and field team took third out of 11 Dec. 1 at the Dickinson Holiday meet. The men’s team finished fifth out of 11. McDaniel returns to action Jan. 5 at the Father Diamond Invitational at George Mason.
The men’s swim team finished seventh out of nine at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational Dec. 1. The women’s team finished ninth out of 10. McDaniel returns to action at 6 p.m. on Jan. 15 at Elizabethtown.
Centenary beat McDaniel 27-15 in non-conference wrestling Dec. 8. The Green Terror next plays at 11 a.m. Jan. 5 at the North/South Duals hosted by Ursinus.
McDaniel placed six students on the Fall Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team. They are: men’s cross country’s Tim Snyder ’08, women’s cross country’s Jess Dittman ’09, field hockey’s Michelle Fluty ’09, men’s soccer’s Nelson Hannahs ’11, women’s soccer’s Kelly Neel ’08 and volleyball’s Alice Hardwick ’10.
