Annual Senior Investiture & Honors Convocation
Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m.
Baker Memorial Chapel

At this traditional campus event, the president of the senior class, as the symbolic representative of her peers, will be invested in academic regalia, and students are recognized for their outstanding achievements. Also recognized are outstanding alumni to include: Dr. M. James Kaufman ’91, Director, Governmental Affairs, Johns Hopkins Institutions; and Dr. Barbara Payne Shelton ’70, former Professor/Program Coordinator, Early Childhood Leadership, Villa Julie College.

Baccalaureate Service
Friday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m.
Baker Memorial Chapel

An interfaith service with students, faculty, and staff participating. Beginning with an academic procession, the service will include the traditional "surprise" speaker from the faculty.

ROTC Commissioning Ceremony
Saturday, May 24, at 8:30 a.m.
WMC Alumni Hall

The guest speaker will be COL Paul L. Alberti Jr., who works for the Department of Homeland Security in the Office of the Chief Information Officer responsible for enterprise Change and Configuration Management operations.

Commencement

Saturday, May 24, at 2:00 p.m.
(until approximately 4:15 p.m.)
Gill Center

The 138th Commencement will begin with a procession from Baker Memorial Chapel through Memorial Plaza and the ringing of Old Main Bell, through the campus quadrangle and into Gill Center. In addition to the 900 students receiving their baccalaureate or master’s degrees, presentations will be made to the recipients of the Argonaut (highest g.p.a.) and Ridington Writing Award (best senior paper). Honorary degrees will be presented to Mr. James I. Melhorn, President and CEO of EMA, Inc. and McDaniel Board Chair Emeritus; and Ms. Helen Thomas, news reporter, columnist, author and distinguished member of the White House Press Corps.

The Gill Center will open at 12:30 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. Tickets are required.
