At
commencement ceremonies each year, all graduates are formally inducted into the Alumni Association. There are no dues associated with this membership.
The purpose of the Association is to:
• Strengthen the bond and promote mutual understanding between alumni and
McDaniel College;
• Build community among alumni, students, faculty, and friends of the college; and
• Expand awareness of and support for McDaniel College and its programs.
The governing body of the Alumni Association is the Alumni Council. It consists of:
An asterisk* following a position name indicates this individual has voting privileges on the Alumni Council. These voting privileges refer to Alumni Council voting issues only, not those addressed solely within the committee structure.

Alumni - ten (10) of the eleven (11) Members-at-Large represent the decades of the previous fifty (50) years and one (1) Member-at-Large represents the remaining decades.
These alumni are charged with responding and reacting to issues brought before the Council on behalf of the alumni constituency and bringing to the attention of the Alumni Council any comments or concerns which have been communicated to the Member-At-Large by any member of the alumni constituency.

Each standing committee of the Alumni Council is chaired by an alumnus.
STANDING COMMITTEES
Awards Committee, and the Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame Committee
The Alumni Association awards program honors individuals who personify the College’s tradition of excellence. Through outstanding achievements and contributions, these individuals bring honor to themselves and to the College.
The Association’s Awards Committee meets in the spring of each year to review the nominees for the Alumnus of the Year, Alumni Community Service Award, Alumni Professional Achievement Award, and Alumni College Service Awards. These awards are presented at a brunch ceremony the morning of Homecoming.
The Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame Committee meets in the spring of each year to review the nominees for the Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame Awards. These awards are presented at the Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame Banquet held the night before Homecoming.
Nominations and Governance Committee
The Nominations and Governance Committee is charged with the responsibility of nominating alumni to serve in various capacities on the Alumni Council. The Committee will also review, discuss and recommend changes to the Constitution, By-laws, standing committee policy manuals, and the structure of the Alumni Council.
Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee is charged with the responsibility of assisting in the direction of special programming for alumni in networking and career services, assistance with the College admissions program, the establishment and sustenance of regional clubs and chapters, and support of the alumni travel program.
GOLD Committee (Graduates of the Last Decade)
The GOLD Committee (Graduates of the Last Decade) is charged with the responsibility of creating programs and events to connect alumni up to ten years out with the College. This committee will also allow for various volunteer and leadership opportunities within the McDaniel community.
