Alumni Committee Descriptions
Awards & Sports Hall of Fame Committees

The Alumni Association awards program honors individuals who personify the College’s tradition of excellence. Through outstanding achievements and contributions, these individuals bring honor to themselves and to the College.

The Association’s Awards Committee meets in the spring of each year to review the nominees for the Alumnus of the Year, Alumni Community Service Award, Alumni Professional Achievement Award, and Alumni College Service Awards. These awards are presented at a brunch ceremony the morning of Homecoming.

The Sports Hall of Fame Committee meets in the spring of each year to review the nominees for the Sports Hall of Fame Awards. These awards are presented at the Sports Hall of Fame Banquet held the night before Homecoming.

Nominations and Governance Committee

The Nominations and Governance Committee is charged with the responsibility of nominating alumni to serve in various capacities on the Alumni Council. The Committee will also review, discuss and recommend changes to the Constitution and By-laws and the structure of the Alumni Council.

Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee is charged with the responsibility of assisting in the direction of special programming for alumni in networking and career services, assistance with the College admissions program, the establishment and sustenance of regional clubs and chapters, and support of the alumni travel program.

GOLD Committee

The GOLD Committee is charged with the responsibility of creating programs and events to connect alumni up to ten years out with the College. This committee will also allow for various volunteer and leadership opportunities within the McDaniel community.
