Green Terror women’s basketball has ripped off four consecutive wins, three against Centennial foes, including a 67-64, Jan. 21 victory over Gettysburg. Kristy Costa ’06 (above) dropped in 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the contest. Katy Powell ’07 contributed 19 points. The team sits at 13-4, 7-3 in conference.

Green Terror wrestling defended Jan. 21 the home mat at the Centennial Quadrangular. Washington & Lee, Stevens Tech, and USSMA King’s Point left the McDaniel-hosted meet with team losses. Steve Jennings ’06 defeated three foes in the contest, while Andrew Winfield ’09, Tony Howard ’06 and Steve Colasuonno ’06 (right) each won two matches. The team stands at 10-5, 3-0 in conference.
McDaniel wrestling heads Jan. 25 to Baltimore, Md., for a Dual Meet versus Johns Hopkins.
After two Jan. 17 victories against Elizabethtown, Green Terror swimming racked up Jan. 21 two losses to Marymount. The women defeated 73-124 and the men losing 55-111. Gold medal racers for McDaniel were Mark Yankovic ’07 in the 200-yard freestyle, Chris Reed ’08 in the 100-yard breaststroke, Brooke Bennett ’06 in the 100-yard freestyle, and Cassie Allen ’06 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 50-yard freestyle. The men’s team sits at 2-6 on the season while the women come in at 4-4.

McDaniel men’s basketball has fallen to three straight Centennial opponents, including a 50-62, Jan. 21 loss to Gettysburg. Will Talesnick ’06 led the Green Terror with 14 points, while Josh McKay ’08 added 12 points. The team stands at 6-11, 4-6 in conference.

Green Terror indoor track recorded Jan. 7 stellar performances at the Gulden Relays in Lewisburg, Pa. Kristin Duling ’09 finished sixth in the 500-meter dash in 1:21.90, a new McDaniel record. Matt Rouse ’07 ran the 3000-meter event in 9:05.57, good for tenth place and the best Centennial mark thus far. Jason Maier ’08 finished seventh in the shot put with a 44’7” throw.
McDaniel indoor track heads Jan. 28 to George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., for the Patriot Games.
