Student Responsibilities
It is each student’s responsibility to:
  • Meet the essential qualifications and institutional standards
  • Disclose the disability in a timely manner to SASS
  • Provide appropriate documentation
  • Inform SASS of accommodation needs
  • Talk with professors about accommodations in the classroom, as needed
  • Inform SASS of barriers to a successful education
  • Maintain and return borrowed equipment
  • Keep all appointments with SASS staff members, or call to cancel or reschedule
  • Be involved in your academic planning and course selection, and monitor your progress toward graduation

Student Academic Support Services is committed to ensuring that all information regarding a student is maintained as confidential as required or permitted by law. Students are expected to manage their health and disability needs as responsible adults. If you are over 18 your confidentiality is honored. Any information collected is used for the benefit of the student. This information may include test data, grades, biographical history, disability and health information, performance reviews and case notes. Choices in behavior that negatively impact your ability to manage yourself or direct others in assisting you, will be addressed accordingly.
