The Graduate Gerontology Certificate Program allows students to examine aging from a bio-psycho social perspective. It is designed to be an interdisciplinary field of study concerned with the physical, mental, and social aspects of life and aging. The Gerontology Certificate program provides a knowledge base in human aging for those whose work responsibilities may include contact with older adults.

The certificate program requires 18 semester hours: 12 semester hours are core courses in gerontology, and the remaining six semester hours are selected from any of electives related to the student’s area of professional/personal interest.

Students completing the Certificate Program nay apply course credits to the Master's Program in Gerontology at McDaniel.
