The College Activities Programming Board (CAPBoard) is the student-governed organization that coordinates social, cultural, and educational programs for the campus community. CAPBoard also provides personal growth for its members and for its chairpersons through leadership and training experiences.

Committee membership is open to all students. The variety of programs offers opportunities for varying degrees of input and participation. CAPBoard is divided into six programming committees and four leadership positions.

Programing Committess

MAINSTAGE
The MAINSTAGE Committee gives you a behind the scenes look at the entertainment industry. This committee sponsors events for Orientation, FallFest and Spring Fling. The committee also sponsors bus trips to band concerts in Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and colleges in the surrounding areas. McDaniel's Spring Formal is the committee's crowning event of the year. For the formal, female students get a chance to wear evening gowns and the men suits for this event which is usually held on a cruise ship.

Second Stage
The Second Stage committee brings acoustic musicians, vocalists, comedians, and small bands. It sponsors the ever popoular Karaoke Night, Student Talent Night and often turns the Pub/Terrace Room into a nightclub.

Special Events
The Special Events committee sponsors the big, themed events. Examples of this committee's work include: FallFest, Halloween Ghost Walk, Winter Semi-Formal, and the Spring Fling Carnival.

Cultural Arts
The Cultural Arts committee will astound you with the outstanding depth and quality of its performing arts programs. The committee's events include theatre trips to Baltimore, Washington and New York. This committee also sponsors speakers and has been known to co-sponsor dramatic productions, dance companies, poets, theater productions and spoken-word artists.

Promotions
The Promotioins committee coordinates the advertisement of all the events. This committee not only produces flyers, table tents, posters and banners but it creates advertisement campaigns. This committee uses campus media resources like the newspaper, cable station and radio station to promote the group's events. When these avenues have been overused, the committee shifts to more creative advertisement like sidewalk advertisement and mailbox stuffers.

FilmsThe Film committee shows the hottest movies in Decker Auditorium and Pub/Terrace Room. This committee acquires the best movies from the previous season before they're available from rental stores like Blockbuster, Erols and Hollywood Video. The committee also alternates sponsoring outdoor movies in Bair Stadium. Movie selections range from action & adventure, comedy, romance to foreign films.
