What appealed to you about graduate study at McDaniel?
I had the great fortune of attending McDaniel as an undergraduate student. Since I was so impressed by my undergrad experience with courses and professors, I correctly assumed that graduate study at McDaniel would also be very rewarding. After college, I was working in a research lab full-time, so I needed a flexible graduate program. McDaniel’s BEST graduate program offers many evening classes, and is accommodating to people who work full-time. The faculty has always demonstrated flexibility, and individually counseled graduate students to customize their program as much as possible.
What sets McDaniel apart from other graduate institutions you considered?
At McDaniel, the professors always take a genuine interest in you as a student. I have taken graduate courses at two other institutions, and compared to those, the professors at McDaniel are more accommodating, flexible, and eager to help and work with you individually.
How has a graduate degree from McDaniel help you reach your goals?
The BEST program in secondary education provides participants with a teaching certification, as well as a master’s degree, both crucial in the field of teaching. More importantly, I was able to approach teaching with confidence, because I trusted in the skills and knowledge I gained while in the BEST program.
Why would you recommend McDaniel to other students, especially those seeking a graduate degree in teaching?
McDaniel has a solid, well-known reputation among educators for doing a great job at preparing people to become good teachers. McDaniel’s faculty offers the personal attention and flexibility that is crucial in preparation for teaching.
