The WMC Heritage Society was created to honor the past and embrace the future by preserving the history and traditions of the College. This is accomplished through
* Engagement of alumni in the life of the College
* Enhancement of Academic Programming
* Endowment of funds to support the maintenance and preservation of
campus historic buildings and to support scholarships for students
The creation of this society provides a way for alumni to honor the heritage of the College and serves to educate current and future students, parents, faculty and administrators on the traditions and history of the College.
The Society has been proud to partner with McDaniel College to sponsor the "Fearless and Bold" Book Signing Tour. This tour highlights our history book and its author, Dr. James E. Lightner, and has brought alumni, parents and friends from near and far together to celebrate our exciting heritage. Click here to see photos of these great events.
The Society has also fully endowed the WMC Heritage Society Scholarship, partially funded through the sales of Fearless and Bold. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student who, through their campus and community involvement exemplify the mission of the WMC Heritage Society to honor the past and embrace the future by preserving the history and traditions of the College.
