Term in 2006 McDaniel students can begin each new year really doing something new. During the College's Jan Term–a special term offered between the fall and spring semesters–students may engage in a period of concentrated study beyond the range of conventional courses. Special courses are offered, often at special locations. 

Students fishing in BelizeRecently, students have traveled to Belize to study tropical biology and to Cuba, where they learned about the international food market, politics, and culture. Some students take advantage of Jan Term for independent off-campus study.
