- During spring break, eight McDaniel students traveled to Alabama and Mississippi to aid in the Katrina Recovery effort through a program called “Katrina on the Ground.” Along with about 1,000 other students from colleges and universities across the country, they cleaned and repaired damaged homes, schools, yards and churches throughout the devastated region.
