Westminster

You’ll feel at home in Westminster. It’s a small, historic town that has the feeling of a New England village—enhanced by easy access to both Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.

Good coffee, plenty of pizza, and an array of festivals: Westminster welcomes students warmly—and with student discounts. The College offers shuttle service to Westminster, as well as to Owings Mills Mall, which is about 14 miles east of Westminster, and the Owings Mills metro station, which provides transportation to Baltimore.

The College has recently joined Baltimore Collegetown, which gives students access to internship opportunities, good restaurants, theatre tickets, and much more…

The Region

One of the attractions of McDaniel College is the opportunity to live in Maryland. There’s a lot available within easy reach.

Into camping, hiking, and the Great Outdoors? To the west you’ll discover Deep Creek Lake,  waterfalls, and a portion of the Appalachian Trail. 

To the South lie historical sites dating back to prehistoric times. Here in central Maryland is a mix of vineyards, horse country, and the bustling nightlife of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. And don’t forget the Eastern Shore, only three hours away, with its abundance of fishing and beach-bumming pleasures. McDaniel students also often venture to the cities of Philadelphia and New York City, both easily reached by train from nearby Baltimore.
