Popular Publications and Mass Media:
Dr. Smith has written close to 100 articles of political analysis and commentary published in the Baltimore Sunpapers, Baltimore Messenger, Baltimore City Paper, Towson Times, and Owings Mills Times. He is frequently quoted in political news stories in such newspapers as the Baltimore Sunpapers, the Washington Post, the Washington Times, the Carroll County Times, the New York Times, and assorted local Maryland newspapers.
Dr. Smith has appeared frequently as a political commentator on Maryland Public Television’s “State Circle” and WBAL-TV News, WJZ-TV News, and WMAR-TV News. He was a regular on Dan Rodricks’s “Breakfast with Rodricks” broadcast by WMAR-TV for its entire four year run. Dr. Smith’s opinions and analysis are also often heard on such radio stations as WBAL and WFBR. He was also interviewed by National Public Radio for their program, All Things Considered.
