The programs in Gerontology from The Center for the Study of Aging (CSA) offer a truly multi-disciplinary learning experience including required courses and electives from 12 different departments and programs, including gerontology, sociology, social work, psychology, communication, exercise science and physical education, biology, and religion.
The CSA Offers New Elder Care Training Programs
Six-week, non-academic programs begin Wednesday, January 7
Based on feedback from organizations in our region, The Center for the Study of Aging will begin offering two non-academic programs designed for individuals living and working in elder care environments. The programs are designed for staff members at assisted living facilities, nursing homes, government agencies serving older adults, and other indivduals who work or volunteer with senior citizens.
The Gerontology Specialist program is designed for individuals without a high school diploma or equivalent. The six-week workshop series meets on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. beginning January 7th.
The Senior Gerontology Specialist program is designed for individuals with a high school diploma and/or some college credit. The six-week workshop series meets on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. beginning January 7th.
