Curriculum
The History Department offers courses and seminars on topics ranging from Ancient Greece to the High Middle Ages to America and the world in the Information Age.  Internships and independent studies allow students the opportunity to work at area museums and historical societies, to research historic sites and battlefields, and to investigate World and American history at the museums and archives of the Baltimore/Washington area.

Students who wish to combine the study book of history with another discipline may obtain a dual major in History and Art History, History and English, History and Foreign Language, or History and Political Science.  Students also have the option to minor in history, with a concentration in American History, European History, or Classical Civilization.

Students who are thinking about becoming teachers of history or social studies may obtain secondary school certification in conjunction with a minor in Education.  The members of the History Department will be happy to discuss these and other options with you.
