Special Opportunities

The Psychology Department strongly encourages students to take advantage of the many opportunities to learn about psychology outside of the traditional classroom setting.

Each year, many students do internships in clinical settings, educational settings, human resources, and juvenile, family, and child services.  It is also common for students to conduct and publish original research in collaboration with faculty members. Students interested in pursuing a graduate degree should seriously consider doing an internship and/or conducting research while at McDaniel.

The Psychology Department also sponsors student organizations that enable students to expand their interests in psychology beyond their classroom experiences.  The Psychology Club and Psi Chi are both active in organizing educational and social events relevant to the study of psychology.

Each year, the Psychology Department recognizes the academic achievements of Psychology Majors by offering various honors and awards.
