Zimbra Email & Calendaring Suite
We have successfully completed the migration of all users to Zimbra, our new email and calendaring package. In addition to an email program, Zimbra includes advanced searching, spam/message filtering, and drag-drop capabilities, the package also includes a long awaited personal calendar.

Informer Web Reporting Tool
We are continuing the implementation of Informer Web Reporting, a powerful multivalued reporting solution that allows our administrative system users to leverage the web to share information assets with virtually unlimited number of people anywhere at any time. With its intuitive, easy-to-use interface, Informer provides end-users, IT staff, and administrators a business intelligence environment and consistent, real-time information impacting key business processes.

Blanketing the Campus with Wireless
Information Technology is continuing the installation of access points across campus. The most up to date list of wireless locations can be found at Wireless on Campus.

Shared File Server
The shared file server will be configured in the Fall of 2008.

Help Desk Program
This will be our most ambitious undertaking and will require surveying needs; establishing policies for faculty, staff and student use; training telephone support; major fine tuning of online WebHelp database; enhanced scheduling of hours; in-house coordination of staff efforts. This will require an ongoing process for the year.

Blackboard Functionality
Blackboard now has new functionality including Wimba (voice/podcasting), Scholar (social bookmarking) and SafeAssign, which is designed to elimiate plagarism in student assignments, is or will become available shortly. Instructions for these features will be available.
