A MAJOR CHANGE TO FINANCIAL AID PROCESSING
Effective with the Graduate Summer 2008 term, the FAFSA form with be processed as a header for the Academic Year. The new 2008 FAFSA is required for this 2008 summer sessions and will be used for Fall 2008 and Spring 2009.
Federal Stafford loans are available for students seeking a Master's degree. Student must be registered for at least 6 credits per term.
- Step 1) Apply for a PIN number with the US Department of Education. This will become your signature and will be the same number for each year that you apply for Financial Aid.

- Step 2) Using your new PIN number complete the appropriate FAFSA form:

- Step 3) Complete a McDaniel College Institutional Application:

- Step 4) Submit the institutional form with copies of appropriate Federal Tax Return, all pages and W-2's.
- Step 5) Submit a Federal Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note or request a form from the Financial Aid Office. Students can choose their lender from our Lender List. If you would like to use a lender that is not on our Suggested Lender List, please contact our office about the process. The MPN must be sent to McDaniel College. Students only complete one MPN while enrolled at McDaniel. Subsequent loans are processed once awarded, unless the student informs the Financial Aid Office he or she wishes to decline the loan.
- Step 6) Complete and submit an Entrance Interview (Federal Government requirement).
- Step 7) Complete an Exit Loan Interview (Federal Government requirement). To be done upon completion of your degree or not taking at least 2 classes per semester.
- Step 8) Deaf Education: Charlotte Newcombe Scholarship for Deaf students.
