Jonathan Slade
Jonathan Slade received his BA in Communication from McDaniel College in 1988, and his MFA in Cinema-Television Production from the University of Southern California in 1991.  For 11 years, he was a full-time producer of documentaries and children’s programming at Maryland Public Television where he received four Emmy Awards for the educational “Vid Kid” series (mpt.org) he created, wrote, directed, and produced. His debut feature film “Forest for the Trees” (imdb.com) screened at theaters in the mid-Atlantic region in 1998. 

Slade became a full-time member of the Communication department in 2003 where he specializes in mass communication, film history, scriptwriting, and video production. In 2006, he spent a semester teaching documentary production in Budapest, Hungary.  He and his wife Novia live in Lineboro, Maryland where they are trying their best to restore a 115 year old house.
