Caring Communities has an Internship experiences potentially for several majors including, but not limited to: business, communications, advertising, marketing, nonprofit fundraising. Caring Communities is a well known 501c3 nonprofit organization that plans the largest disabilities and senior expo in the Mid-Atlantic region. We are located in Eldersburg, Maryland. This is a one semester opportunity for a student who would like experience in planning large consumer events, expos and fundraisers.

Duties Include: media public awareness activities (press releases, develop radio and print advertising scripts, publishing announcement in local calendars of events, placing internet announcements etc.), securing the food and entertainment, finding and calling appropriate agencies and organization to disseminate free expo passes and/or information about the event, help sell-in vendors from around the country, sponsorship development, fundraising duties and more.

Small stipend or hourly reimbursement to be negotiated.

The Communication Department STRONGLY encourages students to pursue internships.  In addition to the traditional fall and spring semesters, students also pursue internships during Jan Term and summer.  The greater Baltimore/Washington D.C. area offers numerous internship opportunities.  Additionally, students often secure internships in their hometowns during the summer months.  We also enjoy a nice relationship with the internship coordinator for the Business Administration Department.  He often provides us with internship opportunities for Communication majors.  Listed below is a sampling of businesses where students have interned or are currently interning.
