Basketball players named to All-Centennial Conference teams
- Two members of the McDaniel College women’s basketball team and one from the men’s team have been named to the 2007 All-Centennial Conference (CC) teams. Katy Powell ’07 earned a first-team nod, while Heather Thompson ’07 was selected for the second team. Powell also became first Green Terror player in the 14-year history of the conference to be named CC Player of the Year. Ryan Brandenburg ’09 has been named to the 2007 All-Centennial Conference men's basketball team.

In the women’s basketball CC tournament Feb. 24, Ursinus beat top-seeded McDaniel 63-53 in the semifinals. The squad earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, opening against William Paterson at Randolph-Macon on Friday.

In the CC men’s and women’s swimming championships Feb. 16-18 at Franklin & Marshall, Stephen Gomez ‘10 grabbed three medals, including a pair of silvers, to lead the McDaniel men to a sixth-place showing out of seven. The McDaniel women finished seventh out of the eight competing teams.

In the CC wrestling championship Feb. 17 at Gettysburg, Drew Winfield '09 won the 174-pound weight class to lead McDaniel to a fourth-place finish out of eight competing teams. In the CC men’s and women’s indoor track and field championship, Kacey Decker '09 grabbed the lone medal for McDaniel, finishing second in the triple jump. Both teams finished ninth overall.
