Governor Bob Ehrlich awarded McDaniel College Campus Safety Supervisor Eric Immler the prestigious Governor’s Crime Prevention award Dec. 7 at La Fontaine Bleu in Glen Burnie.

Immler, who serves as supervisor with the rank of sergeant, was the only campus police officer recognized in the category for Law Enforcement Officers. Over the past year, he was involved in more than 70 crime prevention and community policing efforts at McDaniel College.

The efforts focused on awareness through a variety of methods including guest lectures, alcohol-awareness programming, and literature distribution. Additionally, Immler established relationships with leaders in the College’s Greek community in an effort to solve problems before they escalated.
