Graduate Studies Budapest
Not just for McDaniel undergraduates anymore.

Graduate and Professional Studies at McDaniel is pleased to offer courses through the College's Budapest, Hungary campus for the first time in Summer 2008.

McDaniel College established its Budapest campus in 1993 to provide a liberal arts education for international students from around the world in preparation for global lives and careers. McDaniel graduate students now can take advantage of this unique opportunity to earn college credit while living in this world-class city brimming with history and culture.

The courses slated for Summer 2008 are designed to meet the needs of a variety of students, especially K-12 educators interested in building their knowledge of European history and culture. Students in McDaniel's Master of Liberal Arts program can apply these courses to their degree plan. Current and new non-degree students, as well as students in other graduate programs, are invited to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime educational journey.

The four week schedule includes:

  • One week on McDaniel's main Westminster, MD campus.
  • Three weeks (including travel) at McDaniel College Budapest.
  • Interdisciplinary coursework leading to six graduate credits.
  • The opportunity to design a special studies project requiring approximately 100 hours of work for an additional three credits.
  • The opportunity to participate in an educational exchange in which teachers learn about European educational systems and trends and have the opportunity to meet peer teachers in the Hungarian system.
  • Weekend excursions to Vienna and Prague as well as another location in Hungary.
  • Living in a pension near the College.
