McDaniels social work program is one of only two programs at private colleges in Maryland accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Graduates of the program are eligible for licensure at the baccalaureate level in Maryland and in other states that have licensure for BSW. Graduates of accredited programs in social work may receive up to one year of advanced standing in selected graduate programs in social work. A four-hour course, Introduction to Social Work, is designed to help students decide on their suitability and interest in a career helping others. Required studies include field work seminars, social work research, social work methods, human behavior, social policy and social work practice classes. A full description of the requirements is listed in the College Catalog. |
