Video conferences come to Hoover

Construction of a new meeting room in Hoover Library featuring the latest video conferencing technology to bring in speakers from around the world is slated for completion in spring 2013, thanks to a $250,000 gift from Suzanne and David Wahrhaftig ’80 in honor of his parents, Leon and Betty Wahrhaftig.

“The project will renew the library as a place of academic engagement,” says Wahrhaftig. “I can think of no better way to honor the memory of my father, who loved books and had a great sense of intellectual curiosity, than this project.  He literally went to the library every week of his life, and instilled his love of reading in his children. I encourage all members of the McDaniel community to support this critically important project.”
