Zimmerman named All-Centennial Conference honorable mention in baseball
LANCASTER, Pa. – Jon Zimmerman (Lemoyne, Pa./Cedar Cliff), a junior on the McDaniel College baseball team, has been named to the 2008 All-Centennial Conference (CC) team, released on Wednesday.
Zimmerman, the starting second baseman, earned an honorable mention nod after hitting .301 on the season. He rapped out 37 hits, including two doubles and three triples, and scored 23 runs on the season. He also drove in 20 runs and drew a team-best 19 walks from the leadoff spot for a .401 on-base percentage.
He rapped out 12 multiple-hit games, including a 4-for-4 effort against Centenary on Mar. 15,
The Green Terror finished the season at 13-19 overall (9-9 CC), including finishing the season with wins in seven of its final 10 games.
