Dave Seibert, Head Coach

A Palmyra, Pa., native, Seibert enters his 28th season at the helm of the Green Terror baseball program.
In 1984, Seibert coached the Green Terror to the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship. In 1989, his squad won the Southwest League championship.
In 1995, the team set a program record for wins in a season (19), resulting in Seibert being named Maryland’s College Coach of the Year by the Maryland State Association of Baseball Coaches.
Seibert is also a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association’s “Century Club,” amassing more than 300 career wins.
Seibert’s coaching experience extends beyond the baseball diamond. For 14 seasons, he served as the defensive coordinator of the Green Terror football team. The veteran coach then oversaw the squad’s quarterbacks for four seasons, coaching two of the Centennial Conference’s best signal-callers – Brian Van Deusen and Ron Sermarini.
Seibert is a senior coach lecturer in the Exercise Science and Physical Education department, teaching the popular course, “America’s Game: Baseball,” which is offered as a first-year seminar.
Away from the College, Seibert is the director of the Central Pennsylvania Rotary International District 7390 Youth Leadership Conference.
The 1978 Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) graduate received his bachelor’s degree in physical education and earned his masters degree in educational administration in 1981. As an undergraduate, Seibert played on both the football and baseball teams.
Bob Ackerman, Pitching Coach
Bob Ackerman brings a vast amount of baseball experience to the Green Terror. The squad's sixth-year pitching coach is a retired Baltimore City Police Officer who played AA baseball in the Houston Astros organization. Ackerman is an experienced pitching coach who has taught at various clinics including the Quad States Clinic and Ripken Baseball School . Ackerman served as pitching coach at Essex Community College in the Spring of 2000, and spent 14 seasons as an associate scout for the Baltimore Orioles.
John Nazelrod, Assistant Coach
Nazelrod enters his second season on staff in 2008.
He spent the previous three years as manager of the Lutherville Longhorns, guiding the team to two division championships.
Prior to his tenure with the Longhorns, he served as manager of the Lutherville Orioles from 1997-2003, inheriting a last-place team and taking it to first place in the league by 2000 before earning three championships in three seasons.
From 1992-1994, he served as player/manager for a squad in the First Special Forces Group in Washington while serving as an Intelligence Analyst for the U.S. Army Special Forces. While in that role, he guided the team to several West Coast Regional Armed Forces championships from Seattle to Tucson.
Since returning to east, he has served as a professor at The Community College of Baltimore County, Strayer University and the University of Baltimore.
A 1990 graduate of the University of Baltimore, Nazelrod earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in economics. He also holds master’s degrees from Georgetown, the University of Baltimore and Johns Hopkins.
