McDaniel men and women take first in own invitational
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Sean Allen (Westminster, Md./Walkersville) won both the 3K and 5K men’s race to lead the McDaniel cross country teams to a sweep at its own Green Terror Challenge on Saturday.
On the men’s side, the Green Terror won the shorter race with 21 points while tallying 36 in the long race to finish as the top four-year team in the meet. The women tallied 14 in the 3K and 35 in the 5K.
Allen finished with times of 9:56 and 16:52, respectively.
In the 3K race, Cody Crutchley (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) followed Allen home, crossing in a time of 10:00. C.J.Naper (New Windsor, MD/South Carroll) finished sixth with a time of 10:17.
In the 5K race, Naper crossed 11th with a time of 17:46.
On the women’s side, the Green Terror captured five of the top 10 spots in the 3K race. Erika Clark (Suitland, Md./Dulaney) finished third (12:36) while Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) and Jessica Dittman (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) crossed fourth (12:36) and fifth (12:39), respectively.
Peoples and Dittman were the top McDaniel finishers in the 5K, taking sixth (21:23) and seventh (21:45), respectively.
McDaniel returns to action at the Battle of the Buggy Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.
