McDaniel men finish third at Battle for the Buggy, women take fourth
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Sean Allen (Westminster, Md./Walkersville) finished ninth overall to lead the McDaniel men’s cross country team to a third-place finish at the Battle for the Buggy Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.
The Green Terror men won the tiebreaker to take third place with 91 points, finishing behind Navy (27) and Millersville (33). The women were fourth with 86 points. Millersville won the women’s event with 19 points.
Allen finished the 8K race with a time of 27:17. C.J.Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll) crossed 20th overall with a time of 28:28 while Cody Crutchley (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) was 24th with a time of 29:11.
Jessica Dittman (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) led the McDaniel women with a 10th place showing, finishing the 6,000-meter race with a time of 25:56.
Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) crossed 17th with a time of 26:58 while Erika Clark (Suitland, Md./Central) and Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) were 19th (27:06) and 21st (27:23), respectively.
McDaniel returns to action at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh on Friday. The women’s race begins at 2:10 p.m. with the men’s race to follow.
