McDaniel competes at prestigious Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – C.J.Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll) finished 83rd overall in a race of 270 competitors to lead the McDaniel men’s cross country team to a 28th-place finish at the 2007 Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh on Friday.
Competing in the “White” 8,000-meter race that consisted of 38 non-Division I teams, the Green Terror finished 28th with 755 points. Dickinson won the event with 119 points.
On the women’s side, McDaniel placed 29th in the 33-team, 240-competitor field with 728 points. SUNY Cortland won the 6,000-meter race with 158 points.
Naper finished the course in 27:48 while Sean Allen (Westminster, Md./Walkersville) crossed 111th overall with a time of 28:11.
Cody Crutchley (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) and Tim Snyder (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) each finished in the top 200, crossing 166th (28:54) and 193rd (29:31), respectively.
Jessica Dittman (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) led the women with a 95th-place showing, finishing with a time of 25:04. Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) crossed 136th overall with a time of 25:50.
Erika Clark (Suitland, Md./Central) and Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished in the top 150 for the Green Terror, completing the course in 145th (26:05) and 148th (26:08), respectively.
McDaniel returns to action at Hood Invitational on Oct.20. The women’s race begins at 11 a.m. with the men’s race to follow at 12 p.m.
