McDaniel women take third, men fifth at Dickinson Holiday Meet

 
CARLISLE, Pa. – Rachel McCallum (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) finished won a pair of events to lead McDaniel at the Dickinson Holiday Meet in men’s and women’s indoor track and field action on Saturday.
On the women’s side, the Green Terror finished third with 89 points. Gettysburg won the team title with 104.5 points while Messiah was second with 93. California (Pa.) won the men’s crown with 111 points while McDaniel was fifth with 66 points.
McCallum took first in the 55 meters with a time of 7.34 second, just 0.02 seconds off the Division III provisional standard. She also captured the 200 meters in a time of 26.333, setting a new Kline Center record.
The Green Terror women 4x200-meter relay team added a third victory, winning in a time of 1:54.78.
Kristin Duling (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) took second in the 400 (1:05.43) while Erika Clark (Suitland, Md./Central) finished third in the 1,000 (3:22.21).
Sarah White (Lincoln, Del./Cape Henlopen) and Kacey Decker (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) each added third-place finishes in field events. White’s third-place showing came in the shot put with a toss of 8.63 meters while Decker took the bronze in the high jump, clearing 1.47 meters.
Sean Allen (Westminster, Md./Walkersville) led the way on the men’s side, pacing five straight Green Terror runners across the line in the 1,000 with his time of of 2:42.82.
Cody Crutchley (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) and Tim Snyder (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) rounded out the top three in the event with times of 2:43.58 and 2:48.07, respectively.
Jason Maier (New Milford, N.J./New Milford) added a second individual victory, hurling the shot put a distance of 13.96 meters.
The 4x800-meter relay team added a first-place finish, combining for a time of 8:27.80.
McDaniel returns to action at the Father Diamond Invitational at George Mason on Jan. 5, 2008.
