McDaniel competes at Orange & Maroon Classic
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Jason Maier (New Milford, N.J./New Milford) finished third in the shot put to lead McDaniel at the Orange & Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna in men’s and women’s indoor track and field action on Sunday. Maier threw a season-best 14.55 meters for the best finish of the day.
Jarrett Smith (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) and Cody Crutchley (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) added fifth-place showings in the triple jump (12.17 meters) and 800 (2:05.04), respectively.
Smith was also eighth in the high jump, clearing 1.78 meters while Nick Wilbur (Westminster, Md./Westminster) was 10th in the 400 meters with a time of 55.28 seconds.
For the women, Kristin Duling (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) and Jen Thompson (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) led the way.
Duling was seventh in the 400 (1:05.59) while Thompson crossed ninth in the preliminaries of the 55 hurdles (9.99) for the only two top-10 finishes.
McDaniel returns to action at the McElligott Invitational hosted by Haverford on Feb. 2.
