McDaniel competes at Susquehanna Invitational
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – In his squad’s second of three trips to Susquehanna, Jason Maier (New Milford, N.J./New Milford) bettered his previous best by 0.25 meters to finish second in the shot put and lead McDaniel at the Susquehanna Invitational in men’s and women’s indoor track and field action on Friday. Nearly three weeks after hurling a distance of 14.55 meters and finishing third, the senior threw a personal-best and ECAC-qualifying distance of 14.80 meters and improved his place finish by one.
Cody Crutchley (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) added a fourth-place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:01.87 and Tim Snyder (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) crossed ninth in the mile with a time of 4:42.91 to lead the Green Terror on the track.
Jarrett Smith (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) added three top-11 finishes in the jumps. Smith finished fifth in the high jump (1.85 meters), 10th in the long jump (5.91) and 11th in the triple jump (11.83).
On the women’s side, Rachel McCallum (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) led the way with a third-place finishes in the 55 finals (7.52 seconds) and a 200 (26.90).
The McDaniel relay teams added a pair of top-five showings, finishing third in the 4x200 (1:55.05) and fifth in the 4x400 (4:34.83).
The Green Terror returns to action at the Susquehanna Open on Feb. 17.
