McDaniel finishes sixth at Fisher/Naz Shootout
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Paul Kovalcheck (Fairless Hills, Pa./Truman) shot a two-day score of 153 to finish 15th overall and lead McDaniel to a sixth-place finish at the St. John Fisher/Nazareth Shootout in men’s golf action on Sunday and Monday.
The Green Terror was in fourth place after combining to shoot a 312 on Sunday at Cobblestone before combining to fire a 323 at Irondequoit on Monday to fall into sixth place with a combined of 635. Allegheny won the event with a 598.
Kovalcheck carded a 74 in Sunday’s round before taking a 79 in the second round.
Keith Mazurek, Jr. (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) finished in a tie for 21st overall, shooting matching rounds of 79 at the two courses for a combined score of 158.
Alex Campbell (Howell, N.J./Wall) posted an 85 on Monday to fall into a four-way tie for 31st place after carding a 78 in the first round.
Zach LaVoie (Princeton, N.J./Pinedale) and Gerry Butler (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) finished in ties for 35th and 37th places, respectively. LaVoie posted an 81 and 83, respectively, to come home with a 164 while Butler improved by a stroke on Monday to finish with a 165.
McDaniel returns to action at the Gettysburg Invitational on Tuesday. Tee time is 1 p.m.
