McDaniel places third at Susquehanna Invitational; LaVoie finished fourth
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Zach LaVoie (Princeton, N.J./Pinedale) shot a three-over par 75 to finish fourth overall and lead McDaniel to a third-place finish at the Susquehanna Invitational in men’s golf action on Thursday. The Green Terror combined to fire a round of 314, six off Muhlenberg’s tournament-winning score of 308. Susquehanna finished second with a round of 312.
Playing without its top two golfers in preparation for this weekend’s Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational, LaVoie paced a mixture of upperclassmen and freshmen at the one-day tournament eight days before the Centennial Conference Championships.
Alex Campbell (Howell, N.J./Wall) finished in a tie for 10th place with a score of 77.
Steve Meier (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum School) carded an 80 to finish tied for 27th.
K.J. Mazurek (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) and Matt Dennis (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) rounded out the team competitors with an 82 and 83, respectively.
Taylor Massie (Southington, Conn./St. Paul Catholic) competed as an individual, finishing fifth overall with a round of 76.
Sunday’s tee time at Glenmaura is 1 p.m. while Monday’s tee time is 7 a.m.
