WESTMINSTER, Md. – The McDaniel College men’s golf team will travel to Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Ga., for the 2008 NCAA Division III men’s golf championship, beginning on Tuesday.
McDaniel is making its fifth appearance in the NCAA championship event. The Green Terror earned a spot in the 35-team field after winning its fifth Centennial Conference (CC) championship on Apr. 25-27 at The Bridges Golf Club.
McDaniel used a final-round 304 to overcome a four-shot deficit entering Sunday’s third round to win by 17 strokes. The Green Terror’s three-round total of 917 set a new conference record for lowest three-round total.
Over the last five rounds of the season, the Green Terror has averaged 303.2 and has not had a round higher than 311. McDaniel has not counted a round higher than 80 and has had four rounds of 73 or lower during that stretch, winning both tournaments including having the daily low round four of the five days.
