Hatton enters his second season at the helm of the Green Terror men’s lacrosse program.

In his debut campaign as mentor, the squad won its first three games before finishing the season with an 8-6 mark.

A 2001 graduate of Hobart College, Hatton has spent the last three seasons as the defensive coordinator at McDaniel before being promoted to the interim head coach role last August and hired as the full-time coach in October.

During his tenure as an assistant, Hatton was primarily responsible for the close defense, defensive midfielders and goalkeepers, coaching two defensive All-Americans.

In his initial season on staff in 2004, he orchestrated the Green Terror’s best penalty killing on record, allowing the opposition to score on just 15 of 62 (.231) extra-man opportunities.

While in his previous role, Hatton developed the team’s weightlifting program and was responsible for developing the scouting reports for opponents.

Since 1994, he has worked at various summer lacrosse camps, including the prestigious Top Star Lacrosse Camp and Top 205 Lacrosse Camp. He has also been a part of camps at the University of North Carolina and Hobart in addition to being on staff at the All-American Lacrosse Camp, All-Star Lacrosse Camps and Top-Line Lacrosse Camp.

During his playing career at Hobart, he was a four-year letterwinner and two-year starter on defense. He also was a part of two trips to the NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse tournament in 1998 and 2000. The Statesmen also won the Patriot League Championship in 2000.


Sam Seashole, Assistant Coach

Seashole enters his third season on the McDaniel staff with primary responsibility for the offense and game-day preparation of the goalkeepers.

After playing for Catonsville Community College, Seashole continued his playing career as a three-year starter for nationally ranked Whittier College.

An All-Region XX Midfielder at Catonsville, the squad advanced to the JUCO Final Four the season he played.

While at Whittier, he was the leading scorer our of the midfield each of his three seasons and was a captain during his senior campaign.

A 2002 graduate of Whittier, Seashole is currently pursuing his master’s degree in exercise science at McDaniel.


Brian Chaapel, Assistant Coach

Chaapel joins the staff in 2008 after a season on the sideline at his alma mater, Binghamton University.

While on staff with the Bearcats, Chaapel worked primarily with the offense, goalkeepers and man-up offense.

A 2006 graduate with a bachelor of science in human development, he was a three-year captain and four-year starter for the Division I squad. As a freshman, he led the team in assists (12) while on attack. Before his sophomore year, he moved to midfield, where he spent the next three seasons and racked up 19 goals and six assists, finishing with 44 career points.

A Penn Yan, N.Y., native, Chaapel is currently pursuing a master's degree in counseling education at McDaniel.
