McDaniel and Ursinus battle to scoreless draw
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Joseph Kenney made 10 saves for Ursinus and Christian Maisel (Eldersburg, Md./Boys Latin School of Maryland) had six for McDaniel in a scoreless tie in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s soccer action on Saturday.
The Bears (3-4-1, 0-1-1 CC) outshot the Green Terror (6-1-2, 0-0-2 CC) by a 20-14 margin, including a decisive 6-1 advantage in the first 10-minute extra session.
Each team had four first-half shots and seven second-half shots but Ursinus held the edge in overtime.
Bill Druckenmiller (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) and Brandon Smith (Glen Burnie, Md./Glen Burnie) led the McDaniel attack with three shots apiece. John George and Dustin Young had five shots apiece for the Bears.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against No. 9 Johns Hopkins on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
