McDaniel forges 1-1 draw with Lebanon Valley
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Christian Maisel (Eldersburg, Md./Boys Latin School of Maryland) recorded 13 saves to help McDaniel forge a 1-1 draw with Lebanon Valley in non-conference men’s soccer action on Wednesday.
Tim Mehl made six saves for the Flying Dutchmen (6-7-1), who outshot the Green Terror (7-3-4) by a 16-9 margin, including 9-2 in the first half.
Trailing 1-0 after Zach Barkus finished a Travis Steedle cross across in the box in the 28th minute, Bill Druckenmiller (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) knocked home a James Cosby (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) pass in front of the goal at the 57:28 mark to knot the game at 1.
Each team mustered just one shot apiece in each of the overtime sessions, giving McDaniel its fourth draw of the season – a total which matches the program record for ties in a season, amassed in both 1985 and 1987.
The Green Terror returns to action at Muhlenberg on Saturday. Game time is 2 p.m.
