Muhlenberg topples McDaniel, 1-0
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Jonathan Kliewer scored in the 84th minute to lift Muhlenberg to a 1-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s soccer action on Saturday.
The Mules (8-3, 4-2 CC) finished the game with 23 shots while holding the Green Terror (7-4-4, 1-3-2 CC) to just five attempts.
Christian Maisel (Eldersburg, Md./Boys Latin School of Maryland) made seven saves while Peter Bennett needed to make just two stops for his sixth shutout of the year.
At the 83:44, Kliewer blasted a shot from the left side 15 yards out toward the far post for his first goal of the year and the game-winner.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Swarthmore on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
