Dickinson downs McDaniel
CARLISLE, Pa. – Cooper Morris scored twice to lead Dickinson to a 5-1 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s soccer action on Wednesday. Peter Gaitens (Toms River, N.J./Toms River South) scored the lone goal for the Green Terror (7-6-4, 1-5-2 CC), who were outshot by the Red Devils (12-2-2, 4-2-2 CC) by a 21-12 margin.
Morris scored in the eight minute before John Freed doubled the advantage just over 22 minutes later.
Gaitens made it a 2-1 game at halftime but Matthew Ward scored 5:18 into the second half and Morris tallied 8 minutes, 14 seconds after that to make it a 4-1 game.
Thomas Parkinson set the final goal, finishing a Mike Montross helper in the 83rd minute.
Christian Maisel (Eldersburg, MD/Boys Latin) recorded 11 saves for McDaniel while Dickinson’s Rodrigo Barboza had five.
The Green Terror concludes the regular season at home against Gettysburg on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
