McDaniel blanks Gwynedd-Mercy
GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – Shawn Weaver (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Twp.) tallied his second goal of the season in the 24 th minute and McDaniel added an insurance goal in the final five minutes to notch a 2-0 victory at Gwynedd-Mercy in non-conference men’s soccer action on Friday. The Green Terror (2-2) finished with an 18-4 advantage in the shot column while the Griffins (0-3) held a slim 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
At the 23:46 mark, Weaver finished his second unassisted tally of the season.
With 3:01 on the game clock in the second half, David Cross (Odenton, Md. Arundel) added his second tally of the year off a Brandon Smith (Glen Burnie, Md./Glen Burnie) assist.
Robert Hollasch (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) made two saves for McDaniel while Sean Meehan made nine stops at the other end.
McDaniel returns to action at Juniata on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
