Juniata out duels McDaniel, 2-1
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – David Grim tallied one of Juniata’s two goals in a 2-1 victory over McDaniel in non-conference men’s soccer action on Wednesday. The Eagles (3-2) held a 12-9 advantage in shots while the Green Terror (2-3) finished with a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
Benjamin Knight (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) made two saves for McDaniel while Ted Sonneborn made three stops for Juniata.
Noah Bowers converted a penalty kick in the 26th minute to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead before Grim one-timed a Caleb Davis cross from 45 yards out to double the advantage at the 31:27 mark.
In the 44th minute, an own goal trimmed the margin to 2-1 but neither team could find the back of the net in the second half.
The Green Terror returns to action at Wesley on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
