McDaniel snaps skid, works overtime to down Washington

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Joe Potucek (Germantown, Md./St. Johns at Prospect Hall) scored on a breakaway 54 seconds into the first overtime period to lift McDaniel to a 1-0 victory over Washington (Md.) in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s soccer action on Saturday.
Robert Hollasch (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) made four saves for the Green Terror (3-6-1, 1-2-1 CC) while James Bedrock stopped five shots for the Shoremen (2-7, 0-4 CC) at the other end.
McDaniel and Washington each took 12 shots during regulation but neither could find the back of the net before Potucek’s first goal of the season to snap a five-game winless streak.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Mary Washington on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
