Big second half leads Muhlenberg to 2-1 win over McDaniel
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Greg Leischner scored the game-wining goal of a 2-1 Muhlenberg victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s soccer action on Saturday.
The Mules (9-4-1, 3-2-1 CC), trailing 1-0 on an own goal in the 23rd minute, scored two second-half goals to notch their fourth straight win over the Green Terror (4-8-1, 1-4-1 CC), who only got off six shots compared to the visitors’ 19.
Billy Dalton tallied an unassisted goal just 1:09 into the second half to knot the game at 1-all before Leischer put back an Eric Miller shot-and-save just over four minutes later for the game-winner.
Joseph Gogel made two saves for Muhlenberg while Michael Radcliffe (Kingsville, Md./Perry Hall) had seven stops for McDaniel.
The Green Terror returns to action at Swarthmore on Saturday. Game time is 7 p.m.
