Ursinus downs McDaniel, 6-3
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ben Faber (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) won his singles and doubles matches, but McDaniel fell to Ursinus 6-3 in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s tennis action on Saturday.
Faber and Chris Reed (Bowie, Md./Bowie) won their No. 1 doubles match 8-4 for the Green Terror (0-10, 0-9 CC), who were in a 2-1 deficit after doubles play.
Joseph Ellwood and Kevin Dean led the Bears (5-12, 1-8 CC) with a pair of wins.
Ellwood won 6-2, 6-1 at fifth singles while Dean won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6.
The two teamed up for the doubles win, winning 8-5 in the second slot.
Along with Faber’s 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2, Dan Hovorka (Storrs, Conn./E.O. Smith) won at the top spot, 6-4, 6-2.
McDaniel concludes the season at home against Catholic on Sunday. Match time is 1 p.m.
